Every song on “Nail” contains several field recordings from construction sites I’ve worked on, and all of them were captured using this Olympus WS-500M.
I’ve been using this recorder for over 10 years now, and although it’s small and lightweight, it’s become quite heavy with nostalgia. It’s time to sell it.
This recorder also doubles as a media player. I’ve loaded it with CD quality WAVs of “Nail” and there may or may not be some additional files on there. Just plug in your headphones and you’re good to go.
The outside shows obvious signs of wear but it still functions perfectly.
I JB Welded a 1/4-20 nut to the back so I could hang it from the beam clamp you see in the picture, but it will also receive a post from any standard tripod.
